6AM - Woke up and prepared for the IELTs in Makati Shangri La. I was greeted with a morning of drizzle. The weather was cool and dim, with me thinking that this was probably one of the effects of a "ber" month morning. Knowing that the test will be on an air-conditioned venue, I decided to tug along a wool jacket, just in case I'd end up freezing myself to death.
6:30 AM - We left on a 4x4. The street was clearly isolated, given the fact that it was Saturday morning. The drizzle was still prevalent, but not strong enough to cause any major flooding.
7:10 AM - We arrived the Makati district.
7:30 AM - We're now inside Makati Shangri La, to be greeted by several other test takers and interested immigrants. I think I was the youngest of the test takers. Most of them were already in their prime.
8:00 AM - Entered the venue, which was slowly being filled with around 300+ people or so. It's making me sleepy.
9:00 AM - Sound testing the equipment, then proceeded with an effin' long... long test.
12:00 PM - Finished the exam, it was raining hard when we walked out of Shang and proceeded to Glorietta one where we had lunch at Dad's. The buffet was bad, it just cares to show that the times are changing. The sushi wasn't fresh and the tempura's predominated by batter. The only thing I actually liked were the lengua and roast beef. After lunch, we strolled around for a bit. I was quite excited to check out the Nike store there upon learning that it had one of the most complete collection of dunk... only to be disappointed that they only had around 3 or so designs that I've already checked out several months ago. In short, nothing new.
2:00 PM - We left for Makati and saw several sales clerks walking towards the nearest public transpo. This means they were off early too. We round the corner only to be greeted by traffic, I thought it was like an ordinary hour's drive back home, so i dozed off.
3:00 PM - Wow, still at the same street with little progress or so. We knew that the traffic was going to take some time so we killed time by reading the car manual to playing pusoy dos. The traffic gets worse to the point that in a span of an hour, the most you'll be moving would be less than a height of a grown man. The vendors, mineral water boys, and peanut vendors say that the flood in Buendia's up to one's waist.
-TRAFFIC-
6:00 PM - We decided to park our car by a nearby Mini Stop. At least, there was food and somewhere to pee there.
